Erityisesti jää mietityttämään toi:

.. outoa.
Muistelisin että hommat toimi aikaisemmin, mutta taisin heittää sit 'apt-get dist-upgrade' ja sen jälkeen ei toi x forward ole enää toiminut.

Tuossahan kerrotaan selvästi miksi forwarding ei onnistu. Käyttää eri tunnistusprotokollaa ja siksi yhteys on estetty.
Kannattaa tutustua eri X11 tunnistusmetodeihin vaikka ihan yleissivistyksen nimissä.
Joo kyl mä osaan lukee, mainitsin vielä erikseen tuosta kysymyksen lopussa, luulisi sun tajuavan että olen tajunnut ton kohdan kun olen erikseen maininnut.
Joten tarkennetaanpa hiukan kysymystä.
Eli miten saan ton X forwardin toimimaan?
(optionaalinen) Ja miksi tunnistus ei enää toimi debianin unstable/testing/sarge binaareissa, kerran se toimi vakaassa.

Testaa vaikuttaako tuon X11UseLocalhost vaihtaminen yesiksi. Myös sshd:n lokien tekeminen voi helpottaa, tai ajaa sshd:ta optioilla -dD.
Parempi olisi käyttää freenx tai vnc. Ohjeet löytyy kvg:stä.
