"Go Blonde" festival 2013


The annual "Go Blonde" festival, which has attracted much media interest from the around the world, will be moving to the Latvian coastal resort town of Jurmala this year.

This year’s event will take place on July 13 between the Dzintari and Majori beaches.

Every year, the festival continues to gather more and more participants from all over the world.

"The "Go Blonde" festival is not only a special event for blondes from Latvia and all over the world to gather, but also a charity event to help children with special needs," said Marika Ģederte, president of the Latvian Association of Blondes.

The whole day of the festival will feature activities on water and on the beach, a Marilyn Monroe look-alike contest, a miss and mister "Australian Gold" beauty pageant finale, tennis and golf tournaments, and a "Harley Davidson" bike parade.

Also during this year’s festival, the "Port Manana" wind-surfing competition will be held, an international beach volleyball tournament, as well as modern dance competitions.

The festival will be concluded with a party all night long on the beach, with local celebrities as well as internationally renowned DJs and performers. The festival will be free of charge to attend.
