Vanhimmat
/etc/default/grub ei sisällä riviä 267.
Rivi 267 grub.cfg.new on tiedoston viimeinen:

os-prober etsii kaikki koneellasi olevat käyttöjärjestelmät. Tarkistapa, että kaikki löytyvät. Jos ei tunnu löytävän, liitä levyosiot, joilla käyttöjärjestelmiä oletat olevan.
Komentoriviltä voi grub:in määrittelytiedoston /boot/grub/grub.cfg:n luoda komennolla:
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Ongelmasi mahdollisesti perustuu siihen, että olet leikkinyt ja asentanut Ubuntu 14.04, joka on vasta tulossa... Helppo sotkea järjestelmiä asentamalla kaikkea, mitä netistä löytyy, _jos ei tiedä_, mitä on tekemässä.

Kyllä käyttikset löytyy.
Vikaa voi tosiaan olla tuossa 14.04 versiossakin.
Hyvin käynnistyy 13.10 ja 14.04 kiintolevylle, kun irroitan 12.04:n johdon ja liitän sen 13.10 ja 14.04 kiintolevylle. Grub on varmaan asentunut 13.10 version, koska asensin sen viimeisimpänä.
