Tuolla sivulla on otsikon mukainen maininta. Tarkoittaako tämä nyt sitä että personal editionin saa ladattua koko cd-imagena, vai onko kyseessä yhä se live-cd?

How to use the SUSE LINUX 9.1 Personal CD-iso image:
1. Download the ISO file SUSE-9.1-personal-x86.iso from the public ftp
server or ftp.suse.com mirror of your choice. For this you will need
about 702 MB of storage space.
2. Use a burning application of your choice to burn the ISO file to a
blank CD-R/CD-RW. Select the option that allows burning a CDROM image
and/or a iso9669 filesystem.
3. Insert the CD in your CD or DVD drive and boot your system from it. The
regular SUSE Linux 9.1 personal installation starts.
4. Test your new SUSE LINUX and take a look at the office, e-mail, Internet,
photograph management, and other applications.
5. Impressed? Then visit the SUSE home page and order your full Personal
version with detailed documentation and free installation support. Or
order your SUSE LINUX 9.1 Professoinal Update version.
Lähinnä tuo kohta 5 ihmetyttää, tai sekaannuttaa.. Jos tuo ei ole täysiversio, niin eikö se silloin ole live-cd? Toisaalta tuossa on mainintaa asentamisesta ja live-cd:tä ei taasen asenneta.. Eli onko tämä nyt se "riisuttu" malli minkä on ennen saanut vain nettiasennuksena ja nyt saisikin imuroida cd-imagen?

tämä on asennusversio. Eli lataat sen ja poltat sen iso.tiedostoksi..........
Kyllä yhden CD:n personalin saa ladattua ja asennettua.
Se on toimiva, mutta karsittu, eikä täytä täydellisen systeemin vaatimuksia ilman lisäosien asentelua.
Esim. Yastista puutuu tärkeitä osia.
Jos yhteys sen sallii niin parempi on asentaa ftp-versio.
Perusasennus, mikä vaatii noin 1,5 gigaa levytilaa kestää n. 4 tuntia 512 yhteydellä, eli vain puolisen tuntia enemmän kuin personal cd:n lataaminen samalla nopeudella.
ftp-asennukseen on myös myöhemmin helppo lisätä ohjelmia suoraan samalta palvelimelta.
tuo selvesnsi asioita täytyy pistää harkintaan ftp.. :)
