Eli mulla on sellanen tilanne, että en saa asennettua Adobe Readeria (Acrobat Reader) Mandrake Linux 10.0 Officialiin.
Ihmeellisintä tässä on se, et 10.0 communityyn se asentu moitteetta, mut nyt se ei suostu asentumaan.
En muista tarkkaan mikä oli virheilmoitus, tosin se virheilmoitus oli ihan "pieni".
Jotenki näin: Tuli error, luki et Error in line oisko ollu 219. Voin ottaa selville tarkan virheen, jos se auttaa auttajia enemmän.

Toinen kysymys: Mitäs muita PDF:ää lukevia ohjelmia ois Linuxille, jos nyt en saa tota AReaderia ollenkaan toimimaan?

Minä luen pdf:t tiedostoselaimella. (Suse 9.1) Toimii paremmin ja nopeammin kuin Acroread. Tosin adobekin tuli latauksen mukana.
Pdf-lukijoita pitäisi Mandrakessakin olla useita mukana.
Voit myös tehdä pdf-tiedostoja useilla ohjelmilla.
Yksinkertaisin on kuitenkin Openoffice.
Adoben reader 5.09 on täysi susi, eikä uutta vain näy.
Joku näistä paketeista pitäisi toimia Mandrakessakin.

Adoben acroread ei ole ainoa pdf-lukusofta. Muutamia mainitaseni: kpdf, xpdf ja gpdf hanskaa homman ihan mallikkaasti.
Itse en ole kokenut mitään ongelmia Adoben acroreadin kanssa. Jakelu ei tosin ole Mandrake.
Yritin asentaa XPdf:ää, mut eipä sekään asennu. Kun laitan ./configure, niin loppuun tulee tälläinen ilmoitus:

Koitin viel laittaa Make install, mut sit tulee tällänen:

/usr/bin/install: tiedoston "xpdf/pdftops" tilaa ei voi lukea: No such file or directory

Onko jotain vinkkiä?
Huomasin kyllä, et tän Mandraken mukana tuli KGhostView, joka toimii ihan hyvin pdf lukijana, mut ois kiva tietää mistä mättää toi ettei saa asennettua noita.

Yleensä make installin voi tehdä vasta onnistuneen käännöksen jälkeen. Ilmeisesti tiedostoa xpdf/pdftops ei löydy, koska käännösvaihekaan ei ole mennyt kokonaan läpi onnistuneesti.
Miljoonasta "no":sta päätellen sinulta on asentamatta ainakin X:n kehityskirjastot (libX11, Xfree-devel, tms., nimi riippuu käyttämästä jakelustasi) sekä g . Jos et noidenkaan asennusten jälkeen saa käännettyä, niin ehkä lisäksi voisi asentaa seuraavat kirjastot: freetype2, libc-devel.
Eipä sun tarvi alkaa lähdekoodista noita ohjelmia asentelemaan. Löytyy jo valmiiksi pakattuna pakettina asennusmedialta.
Tai lukaisepa Harmaahurtan vinkit urpm -ohjelma kokonaisuudesta.
Jos lähdekoodista aiot ohjelmia alkaa kääntelemään tarvitset kehitysympäristön, joka näyttää jääneen (turhana?) asentamatta.
Valmiit binääripaketit eivät tarvitse kehitysympäristöä. (Tosin suosittelen asentamaan nekin.)
Miten mä saan asennettua ne X kehitys hommat?
Siitä tää nyt taitaa olla kiinni.
Yritin kattoo Mandraken omasta asenna ohjelmia paiaksta, mut en kyllä löytäny.

Oli mulla näköjään seki jo asennettu. Mut ei vaan toimi.
Kai se täytyy sit vaa käyttää rpm paketteja. Kaikkia ohjelmia ei vaa saa rpm paketteina.
Olis ollu hauskaa vaa saada se toimii ja oppia lisää.
No kyllähän mä tässä opinki lisää, mut tulos ei ollu halutunlainen.
