Arkistojen kätköjä tonkiessa käsiin sattui C&C Red Alertin Win95 versio. Asensin pelin tohkeissani koneelle jossa on XP. 95-versiota käynnistäessä kone ilmoittaa seuraavan:

Vinkki 1:
Jos vanhemmat Windowsille suunnitellut pelit eivät meinaa suostua toimimaan Windows XP:n kanssa ja valittavat väreistä tai jostain muusta satunnaisesta ongelmasta, kannattaa kokeilla ajaa pelit yhteensopivuusmoodia käyttäen.
Helpoiten homma onnistuu seuraavasti:
1. Tee haluamastasi pelistä pikakuvake työpöydälle
2. Klikkaa pikakuvaketta hiiren oikealla napilla
3. Valitse Yhteensopivuus (Compatibility)
4. Ruksaa haluamasi kohdat, kuten käyttöjärjestelmä ja värimoodit
Useat pelit tai ohjelmat saa tällä tavoin toimimaan uudemmassakin Windowsissa.
Takuuta ohjelman toiminnasta ei kuitenkaan ole.

Vinkki 2:
DOSBox dos-emulaattori:

You will also need to load the latest patch. For (Red Alert) users use:
ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert/updates/RA108USP.EXE
Download the RA108USP.EXE patch to your Red Alert directory (this is usually the
C:\REDALERT or C:\WESTWOOD\REDALERT directory). After the files are copied, simply Double click on RA108USP.EXE to begin the update process, and select “Y” to replace the three existing files.
Now you should be able to run Red Alert using the “Red Alert Windows 95 Edition” icon in your Red Alert folder.
