Eli jos joku ihana ihminen vois auttaa mua saamaan
alla olevasta tekstistä idean esille, koska mun pitäs

A tale of two Britains
Studies show that Londoners earn £520 a week on average, those living outside the capital,£400.
Even allowing for the lower costs of housing, fuel
and travel, disaposable income per head in the Northeast is a mere 70% of the London average.
There is also an ever-widening regional gap in economic growth rates. If there is less variation in unemployment rates, this is only because the impact of poor economic growth has been offset by the ever accelerating migration from north to south: the seven biggest northern cities lose nearly 50,000 people a year in this way.
This has fuelled the most striking imbalance of all: the growing disparity in house prices.
While house prices in London and the Southeast
are rising at their fastest rate since the late
eighties,in many areas in the North prises are falling. In 1995 a detached house in southeast was
46% more expensive than a similar house in Yorkshire. By the summer of 1999, it was 86% more expensive. The average semi-detached in London now costs about £250,000 which could buy you five similar houses in Wolverhampton.
Everywhere in Britain there are pockets of prosperity and deprivation. Cornwall is struggling
in comparison with Devon,Sheffield with Leeds. Indeed, nowhere are the contrasts more dramatic than in London itself. The city, with its vast wealth, lies just a few hundred yards from two
of the country`s worst concentrations of poverty:
Hackney and stoke Newington, where one in four are
out of work.
A century ago, when the heavy industries were creating the national wealth and bringing prosperity to such towns as Glasgow,Mabchester,Liverpool and Birminham, the economic divide in England was the reverse of todays. But now the fastest growth industries are in financial services and high technology, most of
which are clustered in the Southeast.
In theory regional differences should be self-correcting,with companies relocating to take
advantage of cheaper land and labour. In practice, skilled labour continues to head south.leading to a spiral of decay in areas of no growth or even decline. The fact that house prices are comparatively high is of relatively little significance. The government is planning to strongly limit the building of new houses in southeast hoping that this may halt the southward drift of people and investment. Rather than being a solution,it would simply widen the gap between house prices forcing people to stay in the North.
The traditional answer to problems of this kind has been to rely on public spending, using industrial and regional development grants to attract businessesto depressed areas. Such measures have only limited effect: for instance, foreign companies
thus attracted are likely to take flight when the world economy dips. Hence many believe that more drastic action is required. It is actually people with marketable skills that drive local economies forward. The trick is to create a sense of cultural vibrancy. The cities that are succeeding are the ones where it is considered "fun" to live.
In short, attract the educated elite and business will follow.

Suoraan sanottuna en jaksanut edes lukea tota tekstiä. Ehkä kannattaisi kaivaa sanakirja avuksi tai etsiä netistä kääntämisohjelmia. Jos tuonkin ajan, minkä olet tuhlannut kirjoittaaksesi tekstin tänne, olisit varmasti saanut tehtävän tehtyä jo!
Ps pidä silmät auki myös äidinkielen tunneilla...
Mulla on aivan sama tehtävä annettu läksyksi. Heitän kohta sulle ydin kohdat kunhan saan itsekin työn alulle.
Lontoolaiset tienaavat 520£ viikossa, ulkopuoliset 400£
Vaikka asumis-, polttoaine- ja matkustuskuluja on laskettu, käytettävissä olevat tulot koillisessa ovat 70% Lontoon keskiarvosta
Talouskasvussa on koko ajan laajeneva alueellinen ero
Tavallinen omakotitalo Lontoossa maksaa 250000£ millä saisi viisi samanlaista Wolverhamptonissa
Talojen kallistuminen on jokseenkin merkityksetöntä
oikeasti markkinakelpoiset ihmiset ajavat paikallisia talouksia eteenpäin
Idea on luoda värähtelevä kulttuurinen ajattelutapa
Kaupungit jotka pärjäävät myönnetään "hauskoiksi" asua
Lyhyesti houkuttele koulutettu eliitti ja liiketoiminta seuraa perässä
