Kun yritän pelata Secret Weapons Over Normandy lentisimulaattori-/sotapeliä, saan ilmoituksen, jossa sanotaan DirectX9b:n puuttuvan. Peli ehdottaa tuon DirectX:n lataamista, mutta vaikka lataisin sen monesti pelin antamasta linkistä, ei peli toimi. Sitä paitsi muutenkin pitäisi olla se uusin DirectX9c jo valmiiksi asennettuna. Kun klikkaan DirectX:n asennuksen jälkeen pelin käynnistyspainiketta, tulee se tavallinen lentokoneen käynnistysääni joka aina peliä aloittaessa tulee, mutta mitään ei kuitenkaan tapahdu. Tietokonekin on uusi ja tehokas, joten siitä se ei ole kiinni. Peliä on kokeiltu asentaa uudelleen tietokoneeseen.
Ihmettelen, kun pari kuukautta sitten peli vielä toimi aivan normaalisti, mutta nyt kun pienen tauon jälkeen yritän taas pelata sitä, ei se toimikaan. Sama juttu on muuten GTA Vice Citynkin kanssa eli sekään ei käynnisty, vaikka ennen toimi normaalisti. Luulen ongelman olevan jossain DirectX:n asetuksissa. Olen kokeillut ladata DirectX9c:n Microsoftin sivuilta uudelleen, muttei se ole auttanut.

Q: I am being prompted to install DirectX 9.0b when I try to run Secret Weapons Over Normandy. I already have DirectX 9.0c installed!
A: If you already have the latest release version DirectX (9.0c) installed from http://www.microsoft.com/directx but the game continues to request that you update DirectX when you attempt to start the game, please try launching the game as follows:
Place the game CD in the drive and exit the launcher menu when it appears. Next, launch the game using the tesla.exe file on your harddrive. If you installed the game to the default location:
- Open My Computer
- Open the "C:" local drive
- Open the "Program Files" folder
- Open the "LucasArts" folder
- Open the "Secret Weapons Over Normandy" folder
- Open the "Gamedata" folder
- Double-click the "tesla.exe" file to start the game
You may want to right-click the tesla.exe file and choose Create Shortcut and then copy this new shortcut to your Windows desktop or Windows Start Menu for the game for easier access.
