Minulla on ollut koneellani asennettuna kaupasta ostettu vanha "Pharaoh" -peli. Siihen tuli samassa kansiossa jatko-osa "Queen of the nile".
Nyt sairaslomalla tekemisen puutteessa ajattelin että asennan lisä-osan ja pelailen.
Asentaminen sujui ongelmitta, mutta kun yritän alkaa pelaamaan, niin koneelle tulee "error" teksti:
Unable to load function: FT_Thunk(KERNEL.dll)
Itse en koneista juuri mitään tiedä, en uskalla alkaa "räpläämään" kun pelkään sotkevani jotain tärkeetä.
Olisko täällä ketään viisasta joka pelastaisi tyttösen pelituokion?? Vai pitääkö pelin jatko-osa haudata kirjahyllyyn ja unohtaa...

Googeltus "Unable to load function" "FT_Thunk(KERNEL.dll)" ertoo seuraavaa:

The 1st thing you should do is to try upgrading to the latest driver for the video card…The DetonatorXP - version 23.11 is the latest. This driver was released on 12/3/01…You can obtain the driver from nVidia’s website located at http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers
If the 23.11 driver did not fix your issue then Try going to the following site… Please note that this is an unpublished driver that have been written by nVidia but has been leaked and have not yet released to the general public by nVidia… http://www.3dnews.ru/download/drivers/nvidia/ click on the 27.30 driver that corresponds with your operating system. Download it to your system. Then go to the Add/Remove Programs menu under control panel and remove the listed nVidia driver as well as any other video drivers that may be listed here. Reboot the PC then install the 27.30 driver that you previously downloaded. Reboot again and test the system for stability by running a game. NOTE – AT THIS TIME WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE 27.42 DRIVER LISTED AS THIS DRIVER CURRENTLY HAS KNOWN ISSUES OF INCOMPATIBILITY.
The digital signature is not necessary to load the driver on XP. You will need to continue anyway past the message. The install will run and run correctly. The lack of the digital signature will not hinder the cards operation at all and no harm will come to the system.
Please remember that ANY and ALL existing drivers should be uninstalled and COMPLETELY removed and the system rebooted prior to the new install…Booting into safe mode and remove the drivers from here is the safest and most efficient way to remove the older and or current drivers from the system.
