FLORIDA EXPANDS PARENTAL RIGHTS TO REJECT PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT IN PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) applauds Governor Jeb Bush signing Senate Bill 1090 into law thereby creating safeguards for parents in Florida from being coerced to put their children on dangerous psychotropic drugs or from being psychologically evaluated. Thanks to the courageous efforts of Senators Skip Campbell and Victor Crist and Representative Gus Barreiro, the urgent problem of the over-drugging of children with psychotropic drugs was brought to the forefront of the Florida Legislature and heard throughout the country.
Tackling this problem in both the Florida Department of Children and Families, where recent studies showed up to 75% of the children who are wards of the state are being restrained with the chemical straight jackets of psychotropic drugs; as well as the public school system where up to 10 million children in America are being placed on these drugs to “control their behavior”, SB 1090 is a significant step in the right direction.
Last year, CCHR was among a broad coalition of groups which successfully brought about the passage of the federal Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act amendment that required federal funding be withheld from any school which coerced parents to drug their children with controlled substances. SB 1090 takes this one step further and prevents any student from being coerced onto any psychotropic drug in any public schools.
Both SB 1090 and HB 209, a similar bill, were passed unanimously by both the Florida House and the Florida Senate. However, Governor Bush chose to veto HB 209 and sign only SB 1090.
While House Bill 209 went one step further to require parents be informed that such behavior may have physical causes that could be treated with actual medical care as opposed to potentially damaging mind control drugs, the passage of 1090, as recognized by Governor Bush in his statement on HB 209, marks a move in addressing this serious problem. Governor Bush said:
“I share the concerns of many of the proponents of this bill who draw attention to the all too frequent use of pharmaceuticals for children whose health and behavioral problems may benefit from other forms of intervention. Further, I am a firm supporter of parental notification in all types of medical care provided to children.”
CCHR will continue to work with other concerned groups and legislators to address the Governor’s concerns with HB 209 in order to find legislative measures that will ensure that parents are fully informed of the dangers of psychotropic drugging and alternative interventions, including actual medical examination and treatment to resolve underlying conditions for the child’s behavior.

Tuli tällainen kysymys mieleeni. Löysin muuten CCHR:stä puheenollen tämmöisen pikku jutun, että skeidologian psykiatrian vastaisen rintaman johtajalla on aika kummallisia näkemyksiä psykiatreista. Kysymys kuuluukin, miten kommentoisit CCHR:n johtajan uskoa siihen, että psykiatreja kontrolloivat Marsista ja Venuksesta käsin avaruusoliot? Aika hassuja väitteitä, vai mitä?

... propagandaa.
Kyllä se lehmä lentää-sarjan juttuja.
Laita puolueetonta faktaa, älä CCHR-höttöä.
