Now that Mariah Carey's comeback year is officially in the history books—complete with three Grammy Awards, two No. 1 singles and the best-selling album of 2005—it is time to get down to business. "The Emancipation of Mimi" spawns yet another career-redefining hit in the sweet, soulful "Fly Like a Bird," an honest-to-God religious mantra about redemption. Set against a low-key, organ-spiced groove that recalls mid-'70s R&B, Carey opens with a pretty, wispy vocal and buoyant harmonies throughout the first chorus before she waves her arms, parts the clouds and wails to the heavens as a mile-high wall of gospel background vocals joins in for the crescendo. The flight of "Bird" from humble call for deliverance into a frenzied ecclesiastic hymn is utterly spine-tingling. A joyful noise. —Chuck Taylor

Seuraava single (eli järjestyksessään TEOM:n viides single) ei ehkä sittenkään ole "Fly like a bird"! Uusimpien tietojen mukaan seuraava single olisi "Say somethin'" (feat. Snoop Dogg) ja Mariahin myös huhutaan valmistautuvan kuvaamaan videota kyseiselle biisille Snoopin ja Pharrell Williamsin kanssa. Ilmeisesti aika näyttää, kumpi tieto pitää lopulta paikkaansa...
Kuten myös, mielestäni "Stay the night" olisi ollut täydellinen valinta seuraavaksi singleksi.
Itsekkin olen kuullut samoja huhuja. Ehkäpä julkaistaan FLAB/SS tuplasingle. FLAB on täydellinen kappale USA:n gospelradioille, joissa sitä on jo soitettukkin. SS on hyvä Eurooppaan ja USA:n radioille. Video SS:lle kuvataan näillä näkymin Pariisissa.
STN:in jättäminen pelkästään albumibiisiksi on Mariahin uran suurin virhe!
Mitä veikkaatte, tuleeko kappaleesta hitti?
Minä toivon hittiä!
...toivoo, että kappaleesta tulisi hitti, mutta se ei varmaan ole kovin monen makuun, sillä se on vähemmän kaupallinen. Mutta saa nähdä, onhan se soinut jo Amerikassa ihan kiitettävästi.
Usa:ssa varmaan menestyy ainakin kohtalaisesti. Suomen radiot eivät kyllä tule soittamaan kappaletta ollenkaan. Sinänsä harmi, sillä se on yksi TEOM:in parhaimpia kappaleita.
