Jos olet asentanut ensin Neron ja sitten Norton Utilitiesin tai Norton SystemWorksin, niin Norton omii itselleen tuon tiedostopäätteen.

Tuntuu hassulta ajatella elokuvaa, joka olisi kytketty Nortoniin...

Voithan kokeilla seuraavaa (ohjeet valitettavasti englanniksi, kun en jaksanut kääntää):


Windows 95/98:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and click Windows Explorer.
2. Find a file with the .NRG extension. Click the file to highlight it.
3. Hold down the Shift key while right-clicking on the file and choose Open With.
4. Select Nero.
Note: If Nero does not appear in the list, click the Other button, navigate to the Nero executable file and double-click it.
5. Check the Always use box.
6. Click OK. Nero may now open. If it does, close it.
7. Click the View menu and choose Folder Options.
8. Select the File Types tab.
9. Find the file association for Norton Registration Entries and click it to highlight it.
10. Click the Edit button.
11. Click the Change Icon button. You should now see the icon(s) for Nero.
12. Highlight the appropriate icon.
13. Click OK.
14. In the Description of type field, change the description to "Nero file".
15. Click OK.

Under Windows Me:
1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and click Windows Explorer.
2. Click the Tools menu and choose Folder Options.
3. Select the File Types tab.
4. Find the file association for Norton Registration Entries and click it to highlight it.
5. Click Change.
6. Select Nero.
Note: If Nero does not appear in the list, click the Other button, navigate to the Nero executable file and double-click it.
7. The Always use option should already be checked. If not, please be sure to check it.
8. Click OK.
Nero should now function correctly.
