What is a Full Duplex Sound Card?
Q: How can you tell whether your sound card is full duplex or not?

A: Almost all sound cards sold in the last four or five years are full duplex. Full duplex means that the sound card can make sound and receive sound at the same time. You can talk and listen at the same time, just like a telephone. Walkie talkies are half duplex: You press the button to talk, but you can't talk and listen at the same time.
Sound Blaster 16 is a full duplex card, but the software drivers that originally shipped with older Sound Blaster 16s were not full duplex. That causes the card to default automatically to half duplex. If you have an older Sound Blaster 16 that operates at half duplex, you can make it work at full duplex by downloading the latest drivers from www.soundblaster.com. Once you've done that, you'll be able to speak and listen simultaneously on your netcam.

Koneeni on vähän yli vuoden vanha DTK Duron 900.
Äänikortti on AC 97 Compliant 3D Audio Creative
CT5880 PCI Audio Controller. Daccon mies arveli
(ei varmasti tiennyt),että ominaisuudet ovat mi-
nimaaliset, eikä full-duplexia ole.Olen hankkinut
AVer TV Studio viritinkortin,jonka jouduin palauttamaan. Nyt olen saanut uuden uudella ajurilla. Asennusvaiheessa pyydetään tarkistamaan,
että koneessa on ko. full-duplex. Edellinen ajuri
aiheutti melkoista tuhoa, siksi en tohdi sokkona
uudelleen yrittää.
Oletko millään tavalla testannut toimiiko full duplex äänikortissasi? CT5880 kyllä ilmeisesti periaatteesa voisi tukea sitä, mutta homma ratkeaa emokortin myötä, mitä siinä on toteutettu...

Full Duplex Test
To determine if your sound card supports full-duplex audio, contact your vendor. Or, you can try running one of the following test:
1. Sound Recorder Test
WARNING: This test only determines if your system can support full duplex using the standard Windows API calls. Passing this test does not mean that full duplex support is provided under DirectSound. Use Test #2 to determine if your system supports Full Duplex with DirectSound.
Using the Sound Recorder application which is included with Windows 95, you can easily determine if your system is capable of full duplex audio in it's current configuration. The Sound Recorder (if you installed it when you installed Windows 95), can be started via the Start menu, under Start->Programs->Accessories->Multimedia->Sound Recorder. If your system fails this test then it is not full duplex in it's current configuration.
Start two copies of the Sound Recorder.
Load a wave file into one of them (you can probably find some in C:WindowsMedia, or wherever you installed Windows 95)
Play the wave file on the first Sound Recorder
While the sound is still playing on the first sound recorder, hit the record button on the second sound recorder.
If you receive no errors, then your system supports full duplex sound.
2. The Game Test
If your system passes this test, chances are your soundcard is full duplex and will work with BattleCom. For this test you will need a game which uses DirectSound for playing it's sounds. The Sound Recorder (if you installed it when you installed Windows 95), can be started via the Start menu, under Start->Programs->Accessories->Multimedia->Sound Recorder. If your system fails this test, but passes the first test then your card is full duplex but your drivers aren't. You should try downloading new drivers for your soundcard. You can find a link to the drivers page for your soundcard on the Compatible Soundcards page.
Start a copy of Sound Recorder.
Load a game which uses DirectSound and allow it to begin
Switch back to the windows desktop using CTRL-ESC or ALT-TAB and select the Sound Recorder window. Press the record button to try and start recording. If you receive an error message your system is not full duplex with DirectSound active.
3. Configuration Wizard Test
BattleCom's configuration wizard contains a test to ensure that your system supports full duplex audio. NOTE: If your computer freezes while running the full duplex test, your soundcard drivers are at fault and you will need to get updated drivers. See below.
My Card Failed, What Do I Do?
If your sound card fails the full duplex test, you can try the following to attempt to get your system to support full duplex sound:
Download the latest drivers from the vendor of your sound card. In many cases Full Duplex support has only been added by vendors to their drivers very recently. For links to some vendor's driver pages, see our Compatible Soundcards page.
Ensure that you are not running any applications that use the sound card while you are running the test.
Contact your vendor, or visit their website to see if the card is supposed to support full-duplex audio.

Hi guys,
You should check with the mainboard manufacturers websites for more info on this chip. Here we only deal with the add-in cards. For mainboard integration, it's really up to the mainboard manufacturer as to how many features they wish to implement on their mainboard. In some cases they may not implement all.

hankkia.Täytyy viedä kone viisaammille laitettavaksi.En osaa BIOSia rukata, että saisin
emolevyn äänikortin passiiviseksi.
