SOLUTION:
Unfortunately it sounds as if the saved game has become corrupted. This can happen if any cheat codes have been used during game play regardless of what expansion pack you are currently using. Cheat codes can permanently change the parameters of the game. Some of the other side affects of using cheat codes are: sims not greeting each other, repairman, gardener and maid not showing up, the car pool not arriving, other sims popping into the house, sims losing skin color, sims not using items correctly and the mail not being delivered, and house and family on the lot disappearing.
You will need to do a FULL uninstall of the game, then clear out WindowsTemp folder. Open the Windows Explorer and located and open the WINDOWS folder. Once this is opened locate the TEMP folder and open it. Now you'll want to delete the files that end in .TMP. EXAMPLE: XXXXX.tmp Once this is done open the Program Files folder, locate the MAXIS folder and open it. Now you'll want to delete all of the SIM folders. Once this is done empty the Recycle Bin and restart the computer. Then re-install the game."

En nyt ole varma liittyykö tämä sinun tapaukseesi, tässä on kyse siitä että soittaa jollekin ja se joku ei koskaan tulekaan eli vaikka tilaa kotiapulaisen ja peli sanoo että tullaan, tullaan niin kotiapulaista ei koskaan ilmaannu. Koodien käyttöön tämä liittyy sillä tavalla että move_objects on koodilla pystyy tuhota sellaisen tontilla olevan näkymättömän pöydän jota kutsutaan pedestrian portaliksi ja joita tarvitaan että naapurit ja ei-pelattavat pelihahmot (kotiapulainen, palomies, korjaaja jne.) pääsee tontille ja sieltä pois.
Jos tämä on vain yhdessä talossa niin muuta perhe pois talosta ja jyrää talo maan tasalle mutta jos tämä ongelma on kaikissa taloissa niin yritä asentaa uudelleen.
Ei kannata ehkä jyrätä koko taloa, jos on sellaisen saanut rakennettua...
