Forssa is one of over 400 municipalities in the province of Southern Finland, located in North Eastern Europe, in Nordic country. With a population of approximately 20,000, the Forssa region is comprised of five municipalities including Forssa, Humppila, Jokioinen, Tammela, and Ypäjä. It is the region's busiest trade and service centre.
Forssa is one of Finland's largest centres for the textile industry and is key to other industries such as construction products, food, printing, and electronics. Educational institutions, such as the Forssa Unit of Häme Polytechnics University, Vocational Institute of Forssa, and the Adult Training Centre, offer programs that support all of these industries, as well as others such as health care, logistics, and tourism.
There are several wonderful attractions to enjoy in Forssa, such as the Forssa Museum of Natural History, the Bird Tower, the Trotting Race Centre, and the Spinning Mill. During summer months, residents partake in extraordinary activities such as the International Festival of Silent Movies, the Pick Nick Hobby Car event, the TyykiBlues, the Summer Night Marathon, the Kuninkuusravit horse races, and many other special events. Forssa also has a recreational centre which is open all year where everyone can enjoy swimming, spas, a wave pool, and several other activities.
Forssa is a beautiful, safe, and peaceful municipality with a great, nostalgic ambiance.
