In the UK the Security Industry Authority (SIA) has already made Close Protection work a licensed activity and in the near future Private Investigation work will be regulated also..
Currently in the UK, the SIA regulates the following security positions:
* Manned guarding, which includes:
o Cash and Valuables in Transit
o Close Protection
o Door Supervision
o Public Space Surveillance (CCTV)
o Security Guard
* Immobilisation, restriction and removal of vehicles
* Key Holding
Question:
Are Private Investigators and Close Protection Operatives in Finland required to hold a specific license? Or does a 'Vartajakortti' cover Close Protection and PI work in Finland?
I have only come across two licensable securiy positions in Finland: Järjestyksenvalvoja (Door Supervision) and Vartaja (Security Guard). Are there any other licensable security positions?

You are correct, there's these two and combination of these. Järjestyksenvalvoja-license is required to work doors and festivals etc. Vartija-license is required for cp, and all other security positions. and finally both are required if you work as security officer under the järjestyslaki (order law) in some specific places. Both "vartija" and "järjestyksenvalvoja" have same kind of rights and responsibilities, although "järjestyksenvalvoja" has slightly larger scale of rights in his work.
Järjestyksenvalvoja has always either a tag on his left chest stating his status, or a jacket/shirt with the same law required writing on his left chest. Vartija has either writing which states his status required by the law or something he is working in civil clothes in some special occasions. - Jimmy007
