Arvatenkin palstan katkeroituneet vuokraluuserit povaavat tämänkin uutisen perustella rommausta, joka ei näy tilastoissa.

ECB, Trichet warned yesterday that inflation beginning of 2008 will be higher than 2%. He suggested that it could tend near the 3%.
He said as well that it should be temporary and will slow by year end and come back to 2%.
NOW, if it happen to be not temporary, then the ECB will act strongly, that's their mandate.
What they are afraid of is the "2nd round effect", i.e Company passing the cost to the consumers, sharp raise in salary etc..
As in 2000, inflation grew well above 2%, ECB acted and raised rate to 4.5% then 4.75%.
So it's a real possibility, and this can happen by March 2008 if the European economy and inflation doesn't moderate.
The issue is all about OIL and FOOD price shock we are now witnessing...
The impact in housing? 2008 will be the UTurn in housing for the simple reason that it won't be a good investment any more for the next 3-4 years..
