Second recall campaign for the ST1300

Symptoms
In certain high speed driving conditions (180 km/h), the driver can experience an instability issue.
Cause
The rigidity of the pivot point of the oscillating arm of the frame might be inadequate. Which can affect handling conditions and diminish the driving stability at speeds greater than 180 km/h.
The solution
Replace the engine support mounts on the left and right side thus increasing the level of rigidity at the engine mount levels.
Modify the mounting method of the engine at the rear.
Modify the pivot point of the left oscillating arm.

Motorcyles already sold
Send a recall notice to all current ST1300 owners to schedule an appointment with their dealers to have the recall work done.
Motorcycles in stock
Apply all changes at the time of delivery. All modified motorcycles after July 2003 can be identified by a hollow point in front of the first character of the VIN on the steering column.
Preparation method
Place a hollow point in front of the VIN once the changes have been applied.
