Hattrick is taking a break to install some software fixes on our main database server.

All transfer deadlines from 12.40 and onwards during this downtime will be extended.

What is the reason for all this downtime?
All this downtime is related to the software update on our main database server yesterday. For some reason the server is forced to work extremely hard, which causes delays and general slowness on the site.

Why didn't the update start a few days earlier?
It's only at the start of the season we can remove old data and it's first at the start of the season we can make the changes for the coming season to go live. And this season started Monday Feb 25.
That said, we will have a look if we can change the seasonal schedule for coming seasons as it's not optimal with maintenance close to the first cup round.

Is new software being tested?
This software is already used in every other part of our system for quite some time and is working really well. This is not a test of any new software.

Will there be more downtime?
We wish we could say no to that question, but there will probably be more downtime and more transfer deadline extensions and similar until we have found the reason to why these software problems occur.

What are your advice to users right now?
Please make sure to submit your match orders etc well in advance, don't wait until the last minute. And keep in mind that there might be a lot of transfer deadlines extensions in the near future.
