As to Malaria....Lariam is only a prevention, but might not help, in which case you'll have to go a doctor for an injection...NO, they do NOT use the same needle twice !!!! After that a 5 day cure of Arte-sunate is the best. Will cause a head-ache but you won't die :-) Lariam might cause other medicines not to work...so see a doctor when head-ache, neckpain and feverish... I don't take malaria pills, but its different when you live there....best medicine...don't get bitten...
Alcohol... Right choice and Maroums...available in Plenty. Street Gin...cheap...but will cause you a head-ache.
Yes they all want your money, and yes they are corrupt, you would be too....its up to you how you deal with it....but stand your ground.
Internet is available but connections might be slow. Towntrip...start at 50D to 100D not more, they'll ask you as much as they can, just say "ok Go off then" and they'll stay and cohere to your price...if you're lucky :-)
Africa is poor, and like in Europe, the poor will try to get...obviously. But if you are on a holiday...you are already helping the country. Do what you want, give what you want...just remember, as a societ ywe should help, you alone cannot solve the worlds poverty.
