We are not on a path to win against Linux. We must change some things and we must do it immediately.
- Jim Allchin 2002 “Highly Confidential” Email
Is Intel planning to write drivers for Linux? This huge driver group scares me. Its them doing something we should do and they will do it cross OS in a way that could be a real problem for us.
- Bill Gates 1999 “Highly Confidential” Email
We cannot let Intel do chip design on Linux ever - what do we need to do to change the decision who do we need to call we will put whatever skin in the game they need
- Steve Ballmer 1999 Email
[Floating Point] is a case where we have fallen behind Linux, thanks to Intel’s great work w. Linux compilers. [...] It’s crazy we can’t get Intel to do Windows first, then Linux (if they must).
- Eric Rudder 2003 “Highly Confidental” Email to Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer
We must slow down Novell. … As you said Bill, it has to be dramatic … We need to slaughter Novell before they get stronger.
- Jim Allchin 1991 Email to Bill Gates
There’s no company called Linux, there’s barely a Linux road map. Yet Linux sort of springs organically from the earth. And it had, you know, the characteristics of communism that people love so very, very much about it. That is, it’s free.
- Steve Ballmer 2000 Comments at annual financial analysts meeting
I like being able to show that a windows solution is lower tco than linux and be able to quantify it. I don’t like the fact that the report show us losing on TCO on webservers. I don’t like the fact that the report show us losing on availability (windows was down more than linux)). And I don’t like the fact that the reports says nothing new is coming with windows .net server. I would not release this report with the “sponsored by msft” on the cover. With that, we will have ibm and many customers pulling out quotes about windows 2000 being unreliable compared to linux and being more expensive for web servers. The analysis that linux is great in certain areas and getting stronger with isvs will fuel the fire.
- Kevin Johnson 2002 “Confidental” Email
Näitä löytyy lisääkin vielä. :)

Kiinnostaisi kuulla vielä ainakin Pentin lausuntoja näihin?
Mikseivät viestini koskaan saa vastauksia? Liian vähän provoa? Liian vaikea kumota tai saattaa naurunalaisiksi?
Mitä väliä tuollaisilla muka aidoilla meileillä on?

pieni lainaus:
"In 1993, Novell said that Microsoft was blocking its competitors out of the market through anti-competitive practices. The complaint centered on the license practices at the time which required royalties from each computer sold by a supplier of Microsoft's operating system, whether or not the unit actually contained the Windows operating system. Microsoft reached a settlement in 1994, ending some of its license practices.[1]
Sun Microsystems joined the fray in 1998 when it complained about the lack of disclosure of some of the interfaces to Windows NT. The case widened even more when the EU started to look into how streaming media technologies were integrated with Windows.[2]"
Enimmät kyseisen sivuston maileista on oikeuskäsittelyn julkaistavaksi pakottamia viestejä. Eli ihan 100% aitoa kamaa.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyglass,_Inc.
"The deal stipulated that Spyglass would receive a base quarterly fee for the Mosaic license plus a royalty from Microsoft's Internet Explorer revenue.
Microsoft subsequently bundled Internet Explorer with Windows, and thus (making no direct revenues on IE) paid only the minimum quarterly fee."
Monet ihmettelevät Linux-käyttäjien Microsoft-vastaisuutta, mutta Microsoftilla on omat yksiköt jotka on pelkästään suunniteltu hyökkäämään Linuxia/avo/vapaata koodia vastaan.
Microsoft on itse julistanut sodan meitä vastaan ja on täysin vihamielinen, joten emme voi vain ajatella, etteivät nämä asiat meitä koske. Eräässä viestissään Gates puhuukin tästä sodasta nimellä "Jihad".
Kokemukseni mukaan Windows on peräti melkein toimiva kapine. Tai ainakin XP. Seiska vaikuttaa myös lupaavalta. Koskaan en kuitenkaan aio mennä takaisin, vaan pienin askelin kohti 100% vapautta!
