Uuden Aven a-pilari notkahti pahasti Euro-NCAP:n pölkkytestissä. Vanhan Aven matkustamo kesti kokeen paremmin ja sai paremmat pisteet.

Piti sen takia panna taittuvia pilareita kun niilläkin tuli jo täyden bojot.
Ave sai pisteitä 32/37. Vanha sai 34/37. Megane sai 37/37.
EuroNcap on todennut selvästi ettei vanhoja tuloksia voi verrata tähän uuteen testiin.
Testissä on mm sellaisia osa-alueita (esim miten istuin suojaa peräänajossa) jota ei ole aiemmin testattu. Lisäksi turvavyönmuistuttimet arvostellaan nykyään erikseen kohdassa jossa annetaan pisteitä turvavarusteista.

Mistä moinen käsitys, ettei voisi soveltuvin osin verrata?
"As of 2009, Euro NCAP only releases one overall star rating for each car tested with a maximum of five stars. This overall safety rating is composed of scores in four areas: adult protection, child protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist. The overall score is calculated by weighing the four scores with respect to each other, while making sure that not one area is underachieving. The underlying dynamic tests are identical to those before 2009, except for the addition of a test for Whiplash neck injury protection in rear impact. Also, Euro NCAP now rewards not only Seatbelt reminders, but also Speed Limiters and the standard fitment of Electronic Stability Control."
Eli siis perustestit eivät ole miksikään muuttuneet. Lisää on tullut ns. Whiplash-testi. Sekä vanhemmista, että uusimmista löytyvät perustestien (front impact, side impact car) erillispisteet, jotka ovat vertailukelpoisia keskenään. Sanomattakin on selvää, että tulokset eivät päde jos eri kokoluokkaa edustavat autot törmäävät keskemään.

Aikaisemmin pylvästestissä mitattiin vain pään suojausta, nyt arvostellaan koko yläruumis.
Olet kyllä todellinen ihmemies kun pystyt tuosta vaan sanomaan, että vanha Ave on parempi kuin uusi Ave testissä, jossa vanha Ave ei ole edes ollut!
"Before 2009, Euro NCAP has allowed the manufacturer to perform a pole test to demonstrate the efficacy of the head protection system where this safety feature is fitted. The assessment focussed on the head only and the result was used to augment the side impact score achieved in the MDB side impact test. As of 2009, the pole test has become mandatory and now includes assessments on other critical body regions that might be affected such as chest and abdomen."
