GTK on mm. Firefoxin vaatima grafiikkakirjasto (muutama tiedosto) Käyttikseni on Linux Fedora core joten valitsin Linux-version. Latasin ohjelman osoitteesta:

Toimin INSTALL tiedostossa annetun ohjeen (alla) mukaisesti Imurointi ja tiivistyksen purku onnistuivat, syntyi hakemisto /tmp/gtk -2.18.0 ja sinne joukko tiedostoja.
Simple install procedure

% gzip -cd gtk -2.18.0.tar.gz | tar xvf - # unpack the sources
% cd gtk -2.18.0 # change to the toplevel directory
% ./configure # run the `configure' script #error:
% make # build GTK #EI TOIMINUT

% make install # install GTK

Koneellani ei ole vielä minkäänlaista Glib tiedostoa. "Makefile" tiedostoa ei syntynyt configuroinnin yhteydessä.

Ensiksikin, GTK pitäisi olla Fedorassa valmiina, että ei tarvitse tuollaista säätöä. Toisekseen valittaa siitä, että tuossa on riippuvuuksia näihin kirjastoihin ja tarvitset ne myös.
Kantsisko vähän uudempaa versiota Fedorasta käyttää? Viimeisin Core on vuodelta 2006 (Fedora Core 6), sen jälkeen tuo Core tippui nimestä pois, viimeisin on Fedora 12.
Tosiaankin, Fedora Coret oli muinaishistoriaa.. Kyllähän tuo pitää vaihtaa jo tietoturvasyistä mikäli nettiyhteydellä käyttää. Fedoran julkaisujen elinkaari kun on vain noin 13kk, että se menisi asennukseen kerta vuoteen.
