"Sweden: Tieto leaves Karlskoga

Tieto closes its office in Karlskoga, which employs 60 persons. Tieto also gives notice of redundancy for employees in Stockholm and Linköping, but Karlskoga will be hardest hit by the cuts.
"We have seen a decrease in demand from a customer, which has led to redundancies", said Linda Skanser-Timsäter, market- and communication manager for Tieto Sweden,
Operations will be concentrated to Karlstad, where Tieto employs 430 persons. It is still unclear how many of the employees in Karlskoga will get new jobs in Karlstad. Eva Gidlöf, Tieto's country manager for Sweden, did not want to comment on the news on yesterday evening. On the company's website there was no information about the staff-cuts yesterday. The only news item that was published was that the group's operations in India would be concentrated to Pune and Bangalore."
