Maaliskuussa 2010 on hakukone Bing ensimmäisen kerran menettänyt markkinaosuuksia - kotikentällään USA:ssa. Samaan aikaan on levinnyt tietoja että Microsoft menettää vuodessa n. 2 miljardia dollaria rahaa hakukoneoperaatioissaan. Microsoft itse asiassa maksaa siitä että ihmiset käyttäisivät sen hakukoneita. Mutta siitä huolimatta Bing-Yahoo tippuu kuin eno veneestä.

yllätys, sillä uskoin että Microsoft valtavilla panostuksillaan olisi kyennyt vaikka väkisin ostamaan markkinaosuuksia kisassa Googlea vastaan. Luultavasti selitys on yksinkertaisesti se, että ihmiset kaikkialla maailmassa ovat kaikesta huolimatta suhteellisen tyytyväisiä Googleen ja jo sanasta "google" on tullut jo englanninkielessä synonymi sanalla "hakutoiminta".
En tiedä aikooko ja missä vaiheessa Microsoftin johto puhaltaa pelin poikka ja luopua koko kannattamattomasta hakukonesodasta, jossa se ei näytä sittenkään pärjäävän. Firman olisi pitänyt pystyä 15 vuotta sitten tekemään tämä operaatio. Nyt on jo myöhäistä. Ehkä kaiken takana on juuri se, että koko internet tuli Microsoftin johdolle 1990-luvun alussa täytenä yllätyksenä.
Microsoft ei ole koskaan päässyt jyvälle hakukonehommista. Googlelle se on leipälaji jonka se hallitsee. Microsoft saa turpaansa tässä hommassa - ja pahasti.

Google on kasvanut liian suureksi.... isoveli valvoo ja päättää mitä netistä löydät ja ne on lähillä Googlen asiakkaiden, mainostajien, kaupallisisa sivuja. Googlella kun hakee niin voisi luulla ettei yksityisillä ihmisillä enää ole kotisivuja... varsinkin harrastelija sivuja on Googlella vaikea löytää.
Alltheweb on hyvä... löytyy yksityisten sivuja helpommin ja muuta mielenkiintoista mitä Googlella ei.

Kyllä tähän asti Google haku on Yahoota paremmin löytänyt ne kohteet joita olen etsinytkin. Sitäpaitsi - kukas se sinne Kiinaan jäi kommunistipappujen perseitä nuolemaan? Taisi olla Microsoft. :)
Mistä tiedät mitä jäi löytymättä... ei kannata jumittua yhteen hakukoneeseen!
