Windows 98 Shutdown Fix

Looking for a better way to shutdown? Many Windows 98 users have battled the infamous "hangs on shutdown" issue that can occur.

There are a variety of configuration settings that can cause this issue. Microsoft has a great troubleshooting guide at:

If you still have intermittent problems, you may want to add a "shortcut" to your desktop. Click on the shortcut and you system will shut down!

To create the shortcut:

1. Right click on your desktop

2. Select "New, Shortcut"

3. Enter the following as the command line:

rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows

4. Name the shortcut Fast Shut Down

That's it! You now have a fast, menuless shutdown that works great!
