Dr. Krugman is like any other ideologically oriented person or a politician when very selectively using data especially dramatically-looking charts to support his agenda-----------
-----With his very selective use of data and consistent talk about euro crisis (where also Goldman Sachs has been lucratively helping Greeks to do their swindles around government bonds to the tune of hundreds of billions of euros) serving those who fear that euro might be taking more from the post-WW2 free ride the US, thus Wall Street etc. enjoyed via dollar monopoly on printing reserve currency------
------ Can I say, yet again, that Dr. Krugman has been, over the years, domestically and internationally, consistent with his support of monetary and credit expansions, bailouts (especially those "too big to fail"). He is, despite his supposed critical views of Wall Street morality, their advocate. And like for the NYT, Germany was never able to do anything right. It either had too high unemployment due to tight monetary policies or when they have unemployment (always with much better benefits and social net) under control and continue their traditional surpluses of trade, producing high value-added tangible products which the rest of the world is eager to buy, Krugman, along with Wall Street, Washington and the London's City is working hard to break Merkel and Germany into inflationary monetary expansion. All this seems to be consistent with a fear that euro might one day eat more from the post-WW2 free ride of dollar as reserve currency.
