On todella hämmästyttävää, miten tarkkoja profilointeja Etelä-Suomen Sanomat pyrkii tekemään lukijoistaan!

Vaikka periaatteessa IP-osoitteet ovat dynaamisia eli eri yhteydenottoistunnoilla tietokone antaa erilaisen dynaamisen IP-osoitteen, on kuitenkin ehkä ainakin Päijät-Hämeen Puhelimen Baana-yhteydet ohjelmoitu siten, että aktiivisimmat kirjoittelijat saavat AINA saman IP-osoitteen, mikä toteutettaneen verkkokorttien MAC-osoitteella.

Laajakaistasi EKV, on varmaan PHPn Baana tai joku muu median yhteistyökumppani, joka antaa palveluntarjoajalle tiedot käyttäjien MAC-osoitteista.
Pitäisikin selvittää, tarjoaako yhteydentarjoaja Etelä-Suomen Sanomille käyttäjien MAC-osoitteet eli verkkokorttien numerot, millä yksittäinen kone voidaan eristää verkosta.
Varmaankaan toimituksessa ei ole omia resursseja tätä varten, vaan asia tilataan niiltä, jotka ovat verkossa.
Mitä tulee GPRS-liikenteeseen niin sehän ei ole paikallisten kiinteän yhteyden tarjoajien käsissä ja jos olisi, voisi joku suuttua ja pyytää tutkimaan asian.
Yksi kirjoittelija ehdotti taannoin täällä, että hankkii palomuurin, millä voi muuttaa "kiinteän" MAC-osoitteen tarpeen mukaan toiseksi, jolloin verkko lakkaa jakamasta samaa IP-numeroa tietyntyyppisille.
Mene, Erkki, vaikka PC Super Storeen ja osta pöytäkoneeseesi uusi verkkokortti 8 eurolla. Siinä on eri MAC-numero kuin nykyisessä, mistä on blokattu todennäköisesti vanha pois tai vaihda jostain toisesta koneesta verkkokortti.
