Olen tässä ihmetellyt miten ihmeessä nämä pluginit oikein kytketään käyttöön Netscapessa. Esim. olen ladannut RealPlayerin ja Java pluginejakin ja saanut ne asennettua linuxiin. Mutta kun ne eivät itsestään tule netscapen tietoon. Olisko kenellään tietoa miten nämä saa toimimaan.

Katso ensiksi Help/About plug-ins. Löytyykö sieltä mitään.
Kohdassa Edit/Preferences/Navicator/Helper Applications linkität tiedostopäätteet haluttuihin ohjelmiin.
Ruksaa: "Always use the Netscape Plug-in finder service to get plug-ins".
Javassa pitää laittaa linkki Netscapeen
Ohjeet tässä:
Mozilla 1.4 and later
1. Go to the plugins sub-directory under the Mozilla installation directory
cd /plugins
2. In the current directory, create a symbolic link to the JRE ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so file Type:
ln -s /plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
Example:
* If Mozilla is installed in this directory:
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.4/
* and if the JRE is installed at this directory:
/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04
* Then type at the terminal to go to the browser plug-in directory:
cd /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4/plugins
* Enter the following command to create a symbolic link to the Java Plug-in for the Mozilla browser.
ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32
/libjavaplugin_oji.so .
3. Start Mozilla browser or restart it if it is already running. Note that if you have other Mozilla components (ie: Messenger, Composer, etc) running, you will need to restart them as well.
4. Go to Edit > Preferences. Under Advanced category > Select Enable Java
libjavaplugin_oji.so tiedostoja on 3 kpl.
En muista mikä niistä oli oikea, eikä ole Netscape käsillä.
Kokeile niitä, jotka on tarkoitettu Mozilla 1.4 tai uudemmille.
Jos valitset väärin ei Netscape käynnisty.
Asia on helppo korjata vaihtamalla linkki toiseen libjavaplugin_oji.so tiedostoon.

Installation Instructions
- Ensure that the .bin file you downloaded is executable. You can make the .bin file executable by running the "chmod a x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" command from a terminal window.
- Run the .bin file by typing "./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin". Follow the prompts provided to finish installing the player.
- When you launch the player for the first time, a set-up assistant will take you through configuring your player.
- Enjoy your RealPlayer10 for Linux!
