Possible Baggage Handlers Strike Action - London Stansted Airport –1st, 3rd & 11th November 2004 – Hand Baggage Only Accepted – NO CHECKED IN BAGS
Swissport, Ryanair’s 3rd party baggage handler in London Stansted Airport has given notice of strike action on Monday 1st, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday. 11th November 2004. Meetings between Swissport management and their staff continues to try and resolve this situation. A further information update will be posted on this website at 1000hrs on Friday 29th October.
In the event that the strike action goes ahead, Swissport will put a contingency plan into action on these dates, so that flights can operate to and from London Stansted Airport. In these circumstances Ryanair cannot guarantee that a check in facility for baggage or bag handling services to the aircraft will operate, as normal. Consequently, passengers travelling on the above dates will be asked to carry HAND baggage ONLY of up to 10kg per adult passenger. The maximum dimensions for cabin bags are 50cm x 35cm x 23cm (20x14x9ins).
This possible strike action, by Swissport’s baggage handlers, is outside of Ryanair’s control and as such, Ryanair is not responsible for being unable to accept checked in luggage. However, if the action goes ahead then effected passengers who are on their return journey and are travelling with checked in baggage may transfer (subject to availability) to alternative flights on the day following the strike.

Vastaavaa lakkoilua on olut jo pitkin syksyä Gatwickin lentokentällä. Ryanair on kuitenkin operoinut kaikki lentonsa aikataulun mukaisesti.
