Nyt pitäs jostain löytää linux ajurit mainittuun korttiin. Käyttis Suse 9.1. 64-bit, joka tunnisti kortin "ATI RV280 5960 (radeon)". Mitä mahtaa tarkoittaa ja onko ihan väärä ajuri.

Minä en tarvinnut samaiselle kortille mitään ajureita. Korjasin vain /etc/X11 hakemistossa tiedoston XF86Config-4 osioon Section "Device" kohtaan Driver "radeon" ja menoksi.
Siellä näyttäisi jo lukevan:

BusID "1:0:0"

Identifier "Device[0]"
VendorName "ATI"

mutta 3D on silti pois käytöstä, eikä näyttöä saa konfiguroitua 1024 x 768 isommaksi. Kuvan laatu sinänsä ihan ok. Onks toi nyt sitten oikein...
Onko siellä samaisessa XF86Config-4 tiedosssa hieman alempana kohdassa Section "Screen" kohdassa luetteloituna isommat resoluutiot kuin mainitsemasi 1024x768. Minä käytän korttia resoluutiolla 1280x1024 24 bittisenä ja hyvin toimii.
Jos allekirjoittaneen XF86Config-4:sta on apua voin sen kopsata näytille ainakin olennaisimmat osat

Ethän noilla asetuksilla isompia resoluutiota löydykään ja bittejä näyttäisi olevan 16. Mikähän näyttö sinulla on. Ota ohjekirja esiin ja tarkista myös syncit kohdalleen. Tässä pätkä omasta XF86C... :
