Käyttis on XP. Voiko sillä tehdä bootti levyn. Vai mikä boottilevy tehdään. 98:n boottilevy on noin 1.3 megaa ja toi bios päivitys on 0.7 megaa. Ei sovi samalle levylle? Emo on ASROCK K7 upgrade 880. 1. Create a bootable system floppy disk.
2. Download an updated ASRock BIOS file (WinZip format with .zip file extension) from the web site, unzip the BIOS file and save both ASRFLASH.EXE utility and BIOS file to the disk you created in step 1.
3. Boot from the disk you created in step 2.
4. At the "A:\" prompt, type ASRFLASH, hit space bar once, and type BIOS file name then press . For example: A:\ASRFLASH K7S41GX2.00 then you will see a message "Please wait for BIOS loading ROM".
5. After 30 seconds, you will see the message "Flash ROM Update Completed - Pass", then you have finished upgrading the BIOS.
6. After finishing upgrading the BIOS, please remove the floppy disk. Restart your system and press to enter the BIOS setup utility during boot up.
7. In Exit menu, please select "Load Default Settings" and press to continue.
8. Select "Exit Saving Changes" and press to exit the BIOS setup utility.
9. Now, system is booting up with new BIOS.

Unohda koko biosin päivitys. Ei kannata tehdä jos et saa jotain merkittävää hyötyä. Jos (kun) menee pieleen nin tulee kalliiksi.
Ei XP käyttikseen tarvitse tehdä mitään boottilevyä kuten piti vanhemissa käyttiksissä tehdä, XP käyttis boottaa siitä asennuslevykkeeltä!
Jätä Biosin päivityksen tekeminen todellisten ammattilaisten hommaksi jos Bios on edes pakko päivittää?
Biosin päivityksessä voi hyvin moni asia mennä pieleen, jos niin käy et saa enää edes konettasi käynnistettyä ja ammattilaisillekin on sen jälkeen suuri homma, joskus jopa mahdonta saada Biosia enää toimimaan.
Jopa alan ammattilaiset sanovat, että bios:a ei kannata päivittää, jos kone toimii hyvin.
No eikös tuossa ole ihan selvä tarve BIOS-päivitykselle, jos emo ei tunnista prossua oikein?
Toisaalta kannattaa BIOS päivitysten "release noteista" tarkistaa että niissä on tehty jotain korjauksia prossun tunnistamiseen.
Mutta asiaan: bootable levy ei ole sama kuin 98:n tai XP:n käynnistyslevy. Disketistä tulee bootable, kun formatoit sen, ja ruksitat Format Optionseista valinnan "Create an MS-DOS startup disk". Sen jälkeen vaan jatkat niinkuin BIOS päivitys ohjeissa neuvotaan.
Mutta ole huolellinen BIOSia päivittäessäsi: Jos jotain menee pieleen, emolevy voi mennä peruuttamattomasti rikki.
