PNY ATTACHE USB RANGE
Install Guide for Windows® 98
Windows 98 :
1. Extract the file « PNYUSB_Win98.EXE » , (double click on) toward the desired directory .
For example : C:\temp\
If you downloaded the zip version, extract the archive toward a directory of your choice,
(ex: C:\temp).
2. Connect the PNY USB device to a USB port of your computer.
3. A window « Add new device» will appear. Click "next" to start the installation.
4. Select « Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended) » and click « Next ».
5. Select « Specify a location» et give the path defined in (1), (ex c:\temp\), then click
« Next ».
6. Windows is ready to install the best driver. Click « Next ».
7. Click « Finish» to complete the installation.
8. Removable drive(s) has been created on « My Computer ». The PNY USB device is ready.
I had a similar problem. Tried all the drivers on the PNY website but nothin worked. Their technical assistance was no help either.
It turns out that the flash drive was recognized as a Samsung Mighty Drive.
Go to Samsung.com and click on "Products".
Under "Global Business Products" click on "Nand/Nor Flash".
Place the cursor on "Products" and select "USB Driver(Win 98)" to download the driver.
You may need to plug in your flash drive and "remove" it in Device Manager.
If it does not appear in Device Manager as Mighty Drive under USB Hub, you may have another problem.
Unzip and install the driver. Then plug in the flash drive. It should install and appear in My Computer.

Pari tuntia sitten eräs atk-guru sanoi, että usb-tikkua ei saa tökätä w98:iin, ennenkuin ajuri on asennettu, muuten tikku voi jopa vahingoittua. Näin on ehkä minunkin tikulleni käynyt, se on sökö. En muista enää, missä järjestyksessä toimin, kun sain tikun viime keväänä. Ehkä rikoin sen väärällä asennusjärjestyksellä. Olisiko sinunkin tikullesi voinut käydä näin?
ei ongelmia, tosin 2:ssa koneessa 98SE ja 1 98 mutta silti skulaa...
Asenna ajuri ensimmäiseksi ja vasta sitten tikku reikään... ;)
