Audi has been forced to recall thousands of cars
because of a potential problem with the rear
suspension.
The cars affected include the hot-hatch S3, the
A3 and the popular TT model, which was recalled
soon after launch because of a handling fault.
The problem revolves around a faulty joint in the
hub carrier which can seize and snap the lower
suspension arm. Fortunately there have been no
accidents or injuries reported to have been
caused by the problem.
Cars built before March 2000 are affected. Audi
has contacted most owners asking them to get in
touch with their dealership.
