Honda, Daihatsu Recalling 151,176 Vehicles Due to
Defects

TOKYO, Oct 18, 2001 (Kyodo via COMTEX) -- Honda
Motor Co. and Daihatsu Motor Co. said Thursday
they are recalling a total of 151,176 vehicles
because of defects in power steering equipment.
In reports presented to the Ministry of
Land, Infrastructure and Transport, they said the
vehicles are 114,102 units of Honda's passenger
car Odyssey manufactured between August 1997 and
October 1999, and 37,074 units of nine vehicles
produced by Daihatsu between October 2000 and
August this year.
The nine involving Daihatsu are six of its
minivehicles -- Move, Terios Kid, Atrai Wagon,
Naked, Mira and Opti -- its compact car Storia,
its compact station wagon YRV and compact car
Duet made under the brand of Toyota Motor Corp.
which is Daihatsu's parent company.
Honda said that the oil-pump belts used in
the power steering equipment could become
disengaged and cause drivers difficulty in
steering the car.
Daihatsu warned of the possibility of
similar difficulties due to oil-pump belts being
stretched too much.

että kantavat vastuunsa, vaikka eihän tuo asia
pahemmin suomea koske. Kunnon autohtehdas korjaa
virheensä sekä myös alihankkijoiden tekemät
virheet(suurin osa Hondan vioista johtuu
saksalaisten alihankkijoiden rikki menneistä
osista) toisin kuin opelit ja fordit mitkä saavat
ruostua ja hajota rauhassa eikä maahantuoja tai
valmistaja pistä tikkuakaan ristiin asioiden
korjaamiseksi. Vasta kun tulee kymmeniä
kuolonuhreja alkavat asioista huolehtia.

SEATin korjaamo kutsut. Vai olisko niitä ihan
liikaa?
Mielestäni tuo on ihan hyvä että julkaistaan
noita kutsuja kuin se mitä VAG tekee, eli salassa
tehdään korjauksia ja vain kaikista vakavimmat
kutsutaan julkisesti.
