the least appealing to me is a really strong british accent and I also don't find the way english is spoken in texas appealing. the most appealing to my ear is probably an australian accent or a, to me a little bit funny, irish accent. :) what about you?

i don't like the texan accent. sorry, I made a mistake :)

to say as you wrote in your original message. The sentence (which I can't remember, sorry) was just formed differently from the one you wrote in your correction.
The only actual mistakes in your text are not to write Texas, or Texan with a capital letter. The same with English, England, Monday, I, Irish, Londoner and so on. Plus a capital letter to start a sentence, of course. But that should be obvious, since we have the same rule in Finnish, like in any language I know of.

Very legendary accent
Most appealing is certainly 007-Sean Connery Hmm, I don't know about least appealing.
British English, mainly Southern accents. And Irish and Scottish, although proper Irish accent sometimes tends to be completely incomprehensible.
Australian accent's quite pleasing, too. The only accent that really irks me is American. There's just something plasticy and annoying about it.

definitely
the Finnish accent, mine included. It makes me blush to listen to my speaking on tape. Why, why can't we speak English beautifully? Why in this broad, graceless way?
I also don't like the Polish accent. But French - I think it's gorgeous. And so is Irish for sure. Doesn't matter what they speak, it's not important; as long as they speak, I'll listen.

I like a civilized American "accent" best, not too broad and still not British, for example people who have high education and are e.g. teachers at universities.
Also I loved the way they spoke in Lord of the rings-trilogy.
Of course we all have problems based on our own native language, but if we Finns can get rid of our staccato-speech rhythm and learn the aspiration, the French could try to say the "h" as well.

The most appealing one for me is the Irish accent, quite difficult to understand first time; however after hearing it for a while I could figure out what the Irish exchangees were discussing about. Naturally I made couple of mistakes and blunders, but the the heck! And Irish music is nice.
The worst one is the Cockney accent spoken at London area. It's very hard to understand and it seems that all the words at the sentence are expressed as one. I would never learn to speak that way.

What made you ask?
To me the worst is the one spoken round the newcastle area, then the scoucer accent. Even if I met someone lovely with these accents I am not sure I could bear spending too much time with them....unless they didn't speak much!
The nicest is very hard to say, but scottish accent is lovely to listen to. Also I am quite fond of the manchester area accents, especially the very broad wigan accent with their impossible-to-understand-words-unless-you-are-a-true-wiganer is at times amusing, at other times infuriating! :D
The beauty of accents! Always more to learn!

Depends on the situation. I found Irish and Canadian accents nicer than others. I must admit that Connery is a good point.

French speaking English - I know this is no accent:(
My English is bad but their's is even worse.
The most appealing "English" accent for me is in fact: the Scottish one! What a lovely singing English!
And I absolutely don't like: Cockney (hyi!).
