Venäläiset Pulkova (operoi lähinnä Leningradista) ja Rossiya tiivistävät yhteistyötään. Lisäksi yhtiöt aikovat uusia kalustoaan moderneilla Tupolev TU-214-koneilla.
Pulkovo begins operational integration with Rossiya [5.10.2005 12:53:42]
Message: Pulkovo Airlines and state transport company Rossiya have started to integrate their operations as they move closer to their planned merger.
Rossiya is to transfer three Tupolev Tu-214s to Pulkovo which will operate them during the winter season. The aircraft are currently on wet-lease with Aeroflot.
Pulkovo deputy director Boris Gudkovich says the airline wants to replace Ilyushin Il-86s on long-haul routes with more efficient Tu-214s and, in particular, use them for scheduled services from St Petersburg to Beijing as well as charter flights to Egypt and India. Il-86s will be deployed solely on domestic routes.
"This is the first practical step towards full integration of our businesses with Rossiya," says Gudkovich. "It will allow us to work out a modus operandi within the framework of a unified company."
Rossiya general manager Sergei Mikhalchenko says special agreements that are under discussion will cover the joint operation of Tupolev Tu-154s and Ilyushin Il-62s.
Russian federal air transport agency chief Alexander Yurchik expects the merger of the two airlines to be completed by next summer. The combined carrier will be based at, and managed from, St Petersburg but both Pulkovo Airlines and Rossiya will retain their brands.
Pulkovo Airlines last month achieved full legal separation from St Petersburg Airport which became registered as a stand-alone enterprise.

Missä on Leningrad???
