"Dani California" is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the first single off their ninth studio album, Stadium Arcadium. It will be released in 2006 as a single, with the album scheduled for a May release, with the music video being made by Tony Kaye, the acclaimed director of American History X.

The band played an acoustic version of the song at a concert at The Silverlake Conservatory of Music. A 50 second clip surfaced on the internet soon after the concert, and the full live version surfaced on March 7, when the user rhcp_fan88 posted the live track in it's entirety on the official Red Hot Chili Peppers message board.

A 15-second ringtone of the song's chorus is available at the official site, as is a Stadium Arcadium trailer ending with a slightly longer clip of the chorus.

"Dani California" continues the character of Dani, the girl from the 2002 album By the Way into Stadium Arcadium (she is also mentioned as the "teenage bride with a baby inside" on 1999's Californication).

The character, created by Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, has an air of mystery surrounding her and her history, but the song is said to reveal a big piece of her history. Anthony has mentioned previously that the character of Dani California represents all the women Anthony has ever dated.

"Dani California" is scheduled for release before the album's release on May 9. The international radio premiere is said to be April 3rd.
