Firm Coughs Up On Fault
French giant Renault has admitted there is a
problem with two of its most popular engines. Some
1.4 and 1.6-litre 16v units, which power models in
the Mégane and Clio ranges, cough and judder when
they're started.
The car maker confessed to the fault after several
complaints from Auto Express readers, and blamed
it on strict emissions rules.
A spokesman for Renault commented: "Technicians
are doing all they can to find a solution, but
they haven't done so yet. Once they have, all
affected customers will be contacted and their
cars will be fixed free of charge." The fault is
caused by the way the cars' fuel systems are
programed. To reduce CO2 emissions at start-up,
fuel injected in each cylinder is kept to a
minimum. But in cold weather this results in the
engine being starved of petrol, causing it to run
roughly until it reaches operating temperature.
The spokesman said that less than 100 cases had
been reported.

mun megane 1,6 16v (2001) käy epätasaisesti
lämpöisenäkin. liikennevaloissa seistessä saa
hierontaa penkin kautta... onko muilla samoja
havaintoja omistaan?
epäilen tämän liittyvän muutoksiin, joita on tehty
30000 huoltoväliin siirryttäessä. mutta mistäs sen
tietää, kun merkkiliikkeistä ei vastauksia löydy.
8 venttiilinen 1.6l on pelannu kuin enkeli.
Jotkut öljymerkit kuluvat 10 tkm välillä noin
0.5l. Mobilit ei kulu (ne nolla luokan litkut),
mutta onpa öljy turhan kallis. Oiskos niissä
uusissa vaan tyhjäkäyntialueella ongelmia?
Naapurin Focus "hakee kierroksia" koko ajan kun
sen seisauttaa liikennevaloihin.
Minunkin 8v 1.6i on toiminut täysin
moitteettomasti. No problemo!
Mitä haittaa on jos tyhjäkäynti vähän vaeltaa?
Ongelmia olisi vasta jos koneremontin joutuisi
tekemään 125 000 km , kuten eräillä muilla
merkeillä.
onkin teillä edessä, jos aiotte noudattaa 30 tkm
huoltovälejä!
Oli öljyt sitten mitkä tahansa super hyper EXTRA
Motor-up ihmeöljyjä, niin ne pitää vaihtaa 10 tkm
välein suodatin ja ilmansuodattimen kanssa samoin.
Vaikka markkinamiehet ovatkin saaneet kansan ja
maahantuojan pään pyörälle, siitä kuinka öljyt
ovat kehittyneet valtavasti ja ovat niin
iiiiihmeeellisiä.
Kaikki markkinoilla olevat yleisimmät öljyt on
tutkittu Suomessa mm.VTT ja ainakin Tuulilasi ja
TM on tilannut testit laboratorioista. Ja tulokset
puhuvat puolestaan, eli ÖLJY VANHENEE EDELLEEN
NOPEASTI!!!
kamu on töissä Mobililla.Auto on Passat 1.8l
bensa ja koneessa on ollut "samat" (en muista
paljo joutunut lisäämään) öljyt 60 tkm.Ajaa
mukana kampanjassa jossa testataan öljyjen ja
moottorin kestävyyttä.Autosta otetaan
öljynäytteitä ja 15 tkm kohdalla tsekataan
tikusta öljyn pinta.Hyvin on kone kestänyt.
