Ryan airin lakkovaraoitus

Lakko koskee Swissportin työntekijöitä Stanstedissa - vastaavat laukkujen kuljetuksista kentällä ja lähtöselvityksestä. Ryanair kehottaa tekemään check-in netissä ja aikoo lentää normaalisti. Lakko koskisi myös mm. easyJetin lentoja. Ryanairin kanta englanniksi:

Ryanair today (Monday, 21st August 2006) confirmed that it expects to operate a full schedule of flights to and from Stansted airport next weekend even if the proposed GMB strike goes ahead. If the threatened strike proceeds, Ryanair will allow all passengers to use its web check-in facility and has written to those passengers today to advise them that if the strike goes ahead, then they may be required to web check-in and travel with no checked in luggage on those flights.

Ryanair hopes that the strike will not proceed as it is not in the interests of the Swissport workers (who earn double time for working a bank holiday weekends) or the travelling public who should not be held to ransom by the GMB over the course of a bank holiday weekend.

Ryanair believes that the GMB and Swissport should sort out their differences without trying to blackmail the travelling public, however any strike if it proceeds will not be allowed to disrupt Ryanair’s flights at Stansted next weekend.

A planned weekend strike by baggage handlers and check-in staff at Stansted Airport near London has been called off.

Staff have accepted a new pay deal from the company which runs the airport.

Stansted is Ryanair's main airport hub in Britain.
