Sir Sean Connery, well known for driving Aston
Martins in James Bond movies, could soon be
promoting Skoda cars, it was disclosed today.
The Spanish arm of the Czech company is
negotiating with the former 007 star about
adverts for Skoda's new sporty Octavia model.
It is thought that if the deal goes ahead, the
adverts could be shot in Scotland, with Sir Sean
possibly wearing a kilt.
"The Spanish importer of Skoda has been in
negotiations with Sir Sean about the possibility
of his featuring in an advert," said a
spokeswoman for Skoda UK today.
She went on: "The project has been put on hold
because of Sir Sean's movie-making commitments.
The Spanish importers will now have to decide
whether to go ahead with the plan when Sir Sean
is free again.
"The adverts may be shown in Spain and possibly
could be shot in Scotland. But it's really too
early to give any firm details."
One possible location for the advert is believed
to be the Eilean Donan Castle near the Kyle of
Lochalsh. The castle featured in the last Bond
movie, The World Is Not Enough, starring Pierce
Brosnan as 007.
Sir Sean was seen driving racy Aston Martins in
the early, 1960s', Bond films, including
Goldfinger.
Now part of the Volkswagen empire, Skoda has long
since cast off its old image of poor performance
and unreliability.

Homma on tietysti rahasta kiinni! Vaikka olisihan
se komeaa, kun Connery kurvailee Octavialla. Saas
nähhä...
Connery varmaan kurvailee pientä maksua vastaan
Octavialla, mutta papparaista tuskin edes pientä
maksua vastaan saa BOND tähdeksi uuteen leffaan.
