Luin tuolta jostain aikaisemmin, että koirat ovat islamin mukaan epäpuhtaita eläimiä (olen kuullut kyllä ennenkin). Ja musta koira on piru, joka pitää tappaa. Tiedän monta muslimia, jolla on koiria ja vieläpä mustia sellaisia. Nythän tuon yhden kirjoituksen mukaan kaikki nämä koirat pitäisi tappaa. Kysynpä vaan, että miksi Jumala antaa mustien koirien (ja yleensä koirien) syntyä, jos ne ovat saastaisia olentoja. Koirahan on mitä parhain naisen suojelija tuolla pimeässä kävellessä.
Mä olen itse muslimi-nainen ja mulla on musta koira. Enkä aio todellakaan luopua siitä muuta kuin pakon edessä (allergia tai koiran sairastuminen). Mitähän tästä mulle seuraa??

Answer: I cannot say to you that having a dog as a pet is haram. If you have a dog, you should have a separated place for it, but not have a dog to live with you in the same room. Muslims don't have dogs as pets because of culture, more than a matter of religion. Muslims discourage having a dog as a pet, but they can use it for games, for shepherding or as guard dogs, or different other purposes. Having a dog just for fun is not recommended. Of course, if a dog licks at a bowl of food or drink, you should wash that bowl seven times with water. There are certain restrictions in having a dog, but again I say that it is not haram.

A dog can be owned for purposes such as the following:
1. A trained dog for hunting. Remember in Islam we are only allowed to hunt for food; there is no such thing as hunting for fun, for we are not allowed to kill or torture animals or drive them out of their habitats for the fun of it.
2. A trained dog as a guide. This would be the case if a person is blind and he/she has no choice but to keep a dog for essential services. In this case, it is permissible for him/her to keep a dog inside the house once it has been trained for service, but it is still recommended that the dog have its own sleeping arrangement.
3. A dog trained for police duties.
4. A guard dog to guard houses or property.
5. A dog used by farmers to shepherd cattle and sheep.
We are, however, not allowed to keep a dog as a pet, since it is not a very clean animal.
If, however, you do need to keep a dog for any of the reasons given above, then you may do so. But take every precaution not to have contact with its saliva, and also arrange for a separate living space

2. It is NOT haraam to touch a dog or any other animal. If the saliva of a dog touches you or any part of your clothing, then it is required of you to wash the body part touched and the item of clothing touched by the dog’s mouth or snout.

Kun luin nuo tekstit, niin en pystyisi elämään oikeaoppista elämää muslimina, koska minulla ja koirallani on hyvin läheinen suhde.
Me nukumme vierekkäin kaikki yöt (sänkyni on 120 cm), istumme sohvassa sylikkäin (koirani tunkee väkisin syliini vaikka painaa 32 kg) ja toisinaan syömmekin samalta lautaselta.
Koska olemme näin läheisiä, pidän koirani hyvin siistinä. Lähes joka lenkin jälkeen pesen koirani tassut ja huuhtelen munat pissikarvoista. Päivittäin pesen myös koirani hampaat eikä sen henki haise yhtään. Pesen koirani turkin aina kun se on tarpeen, mutta vähintään kerran kuukaudessa. Sen jälkeen se tuoksuu vielä viikon ajan ihanalta shampoolta.
Belgianpaimenkoirasta ei lähde karvaa juuri ollenkaan, paitsi kerran vuodessa, jolloin se vaihtaa turkkinsa. Minun mussukalla on juuri nyt tuo sulkasato ja karvaa on kaikkialla vaikka harjaan sitä päivittäin.
Halailen paljon koiraani ja pussailen sitä, samoin koirani tunkee väkisin kainalooni ja nuolee naamani ja korvani. Noissa teksteissä käskettiin myös pestä kohteet joihin tippuu koiran kuolaa. Mahdoton tehtävä. Varsinkin kesähelteillä lenkin jälkeen koirani läähättää vielä pitkään ja kuolaa tippuu joka paikkaan.
Olen tottunut elämään koirani kanssa näin, enkä luopuisi ihanasta öisestä tuhisevasta lämpöpatterista kyljessäni minkään uskonnon tähden.
