Summary:
Love the looks of the car!!!! Unless you want to spend a ton each month on repairs, don't purchase this car. The electrical is crazy. Window rolling up and down on their own. Hazard lights coming on and off. You name it and if it is electrical it has probally happened.

Fantastic car... so many electrical problems !... I purchase an Audi TT 225 bhp 2 monnths ago.. best ride I have ever had at an affordable price.. but Oh my God.. computer goes mad !

Strengths:
Powerful, good looking

Weaknesses:
Electrical.. After buying my TT, the Engine Managment System light came up on the dashboard. I took the car to an Audi workshop. Problem got sorted... 50 miles out of the workshop, the light comes up again.. I am starting to get annoyed, specially on my way to france for some well deserved holidays... during this 3000 miles journey I have read everything on the dashboard, breakpad to be changed ! how come they are brand new.. :-(, light bulb to be changed.. how come they are on and its night time ? :-(.... I came to the point where I start ignoring these warning as I think they dont relate to any problems... at all.. Now the Turbo seems to have some problems as the accelarator does not reply to my command... My TT is going for anothor hospital check next month.. verdict, if it carries on, I will just sell it.. by the way it was only 70,000 miles.. should a car at this prices (brand new) be a little more reliable ?

1.Engine turbo malfunction or engine power lose /
When driving or engine starts up.

2.Power windows malfunction /
Power windows roll down by themselves.

3.Alarm system malfunction /
Locks you in your car or turns off the alarm by itself.

4.Climate control malfunction /
Stops working for 5 to 10 minutes and reset itself to bow on high.

5.Cruise control malfunction /
Sometime it just stops working.

6.Tachometer malfunction /
Goes offline and show’s the wrong reading.

7.Fuel and Temperature gauge malfunction /
When engine starts up, gauges doesn’t work sometimes.

8.Emergency flasher malfunction /
Turns on and off by itself.

9.Radio malfunction /
Pops and turns off for 4 to 5 minutes

10.Dash humming /

I barely avoided having two car accidents with my Audi TT. Audi Service Advisors said my Audi TT engine malfunctions were repaired.

One - I'm at a stop light waiting to make a left turn across on coming traffic. Just as I pull out and make the left turn the Audi TT engine losses power, right in the path of oncoming traffic. Thanks to the other drivers, I narrowly escaped a serious accident caused by my Audi's power loss.

Two - Again my Audi's Service Advisors said my Audi TT engine malfunction was repaired. I'm driving on the highway in the left lane, fast, in heavy traffic. I began to make my way over to the far right lane for my up coming exit. Just as I pull in front of the car one lane over to my right, my Audi TT engine lost power.

As a result I narrowly escaped causing a pileup on the highway that day. Once again, I was lucky the other drivers around me were paying attention.

The Audi Service Advisors told me 6 separate times my engine malfunctions were repaired. The engine in my 2001 Audi TT is still malfunctioning along with an array of separate electrical malfunctions. Someone please tell me what should I do?

The next time my car is "fixed" there is a good chance I'll end up DEAD. I do not trust Audi Service Techs or Audi Service Advisors, could anyone blame me? To date the engine on my Audi TT is still malfunctioning.10-17-2001.
