The Finns and several observers abroad are waiting tensely for, whether the Court of Helsinki releases the last “Stalinistic” secret in Finland: The lists of the suspected Finnish spies of the former German secret police, STASI. - As known the information is essential evidence for the trial in the Helsinki Court, where the Finnish ambassador claims damages of probably unjust treatment by the Finnish secret police, SUPO.
An anonymous source of information inside the secret police tells that SUPO is in panic and some of its henchmen have been commanded to watch over everything and everybody that could threaten the police administration. No wonder, for if it becomes clear that the classified STASI-lists have included the real spy-names, as it is expected, and only the ambassador has been accused on grounds of unjust, even political reason - the Finnish secret police will collapse and it is threatened a punishment for aggravated crime in the civil service.
But more exciting is the situation if the Court of Helsinki decides to keep secret the lists. Then it is obvious, which has been suspected; the one and the worst name in the lists may belong to the one of the three Finnish Presidents. The last decision concerning the STASI-concealing will be apparently made by the Supreme Court.
In any case the STASI-secret and “the big names” could cause a huge damage to the State of Finland. USA that sent the lists for a “inconceivable reason” to the Finland, after getting them from Germany, might blackmail Finland secretly, by using these names and politicians: to join the NATO. USA needs now desperately all the men and help to fight against the Arabs in Iraq.
Already one of this kind of suspected sign in January might be the secretly made decision of Finland, to join the rapid action forces of NATO together with Sweden. This decision of the former Foreign Minister of Finland was totally unexpected and odd to the Finns.
