Jordanian kuningas "johdottaa" kaikki maansa koulut:
"Broadening ICT access to communities, businesses, and citizens throughout Jordan is another priority of King Abdullah II. In response to King Abdullah II's call that “all schools and communities will be wired”, the Connecting Jordanians Initiative was introduced. The initiative is aimed at coordinating an integrated national strategy to get Jordanians online.
The initial priority of the Connecting Jordanians Initiative is on connecting Jordan's 3000 schools, 8 public universities, 23 community colleges, and 70 community access centres to a predominantly fibre learning network by 2005, bringing high speed broadband connectivity to nearly 1.5 million Jordanians.
The government of Jordan has completed the business case for fibre broadband connectivity to all of its learning institutions, and is currently planning an approach towards the implementation of the learning network.
In addition, as part of the Connecting Jordanians Initiative, the NetCorps Jordan program is being launched. NetCorps Jordan will tap into the creativity and energy of youth to serve their community. Jordan's youth are being provided with a blend of technology and business training that enables them to assist communities in incorporating ICT for development."
