Bush Orders NSA to Secure Microsoft Windows XP

"In a recently-leaked secret memo, written in October 2005, President George Bush authorized the National Security Agency (NSA) to “employ all of its tools and skills” to enhance the security of Microsoft Windows XP.
Existence of the highly-classified covert program, revealed in a frontpage New York Times story, could not be verified yesterday as Microsoft announced it had discovered yet another serious flaw in the code of its flagship XP operating system.
A White House spokesman today would not confirm or deny existence of the secret NSA program, dubbed Operation Patchwork Quilt, but reiterated that “the president believes history will judge him on how well he protected the American people from all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
Microsoft has not yet issued a patch for the latest vulnerability — a hole that hackers can exploit to infect a PC with spyware, adware or a malicious stomach virus.
About 90 percent of Americans use the Windows operating system and other Microsoft products — despite the free availability of reliable, easy-to-use alternative systems, office productivity suites and internet browsers — because they want to do their part to help Microsoft Philanthropist Bill Gates fight tropical diseases in foreign lands."

jos mä postaisin vastaavan jutun blogiini linuxista niin pitäisitkö sä sitäkin absotuuttisena totuutena? ei nsa voi kuitenkaan naamioida mahdollisen salaoven verkkoliikennettä täysin joten tuollainen olisi noussut vuosien saatossa jo ajat sitten lööppeihin. jos pitäisi paikkaansa.
ei takaporttia niin kannata suunnitella että se koko ajan verkkoon kommunikoi. vasta sitten kun tarvetta on, se lähtee aktiiviseksi.
ja kun se lähtee aktiiviseksi niin sen aikaansaama verkkoliikenne huomattaisiin. mutta mielenkiinto heräs onko sulla todisteita tollasen takaportin olemassa olosta yhtään vai onko kaikki tieto peräisin blogeista ja artikkeleista?
silloin juuri kyseisen koneen verkkoliikennettä pitäisi seurata.
kun ei noita takaportteja, jos niitä ylipäätään on, huvikseen matti meikäläisen koneelle aktivoida.
ja jos taas joku terroristi huomaa koneellaan epämääräistä verkkoliikennettä, niin mahtaisiko hän kovin suurta metakkaa asiasta nostaa?
terroristi voi tarkoittaa tässä oikeaa terroristia tai yksinkertaisesti väärinajattelijaa.
ja siihen että onko takaportteja ylipäätään ei luonnollisesti pääse mitenkään tarkastamaan jos kyseessä on suljettu koodi. sinne voi ujuttaaa mitä ikinä haluaa.
Mitä ihmettä täysin reikäiseen seulaan tekisi lisää reikiä, siis mitä v*ttua NSA tarvitsisi jotain takaportteja, kun 12 vuotias penska pääsee verkossa leviävillä työkaluilla XP:n läpi käyttäjän huomaamatta?
Ainoa mikä saattaa olla huomaamatta, vois olla koodinpätkä jonka avulla jonkun reiän kautta syöttämällä saa koko XP:n uudelleenasennuskuntoon?
tarkoitat bushin hallintoa?
Olisi kyllä typerästi ajateltu jos Windowsiin olisi laitettu hallituksen takaportti, jota sitten käytetään vihulaisten metsästämiseen, koska vihulaisten tarkkailu onnistuu myös naamioimalla tarkkailu ihan tavalliseksi hakkerihyökkäykseksi.
