"She and John Lenehan play an assortment of short pieces plus Grieg's Violin Sonata 3, and their interpretations are all very sensible and well paced. Indeed, from the standpoint of structural clarity, this is one of the better Grieg Sonatas I've heard" (American Record Guide)
"Linda Brava, a sultry, blond Finnish actor and model, was a child prodigy on the violin, and is still an amazingly proficient performer. The high point of her fine recital disc with pianist John Lenehan is a strong reading of Grieg's Sonata no.3, in C Minor (Andante)
"A promising début recital. This is a delightful recital, lightweight to be sure, but played with such warmth, and an eloquent simplicity of line, that the ear is instantly beguiled. The opening Elgar Salut d'amour is pleasing enough but the following Faure Berceuse is utterly winning, and the famous 'Meditation' from Massenet's Thais soars aloft without being in the least sentimentalized -- The central performance of the Grieg Sonata is strong, passionate and most compelling. The central Allegretto espressivo alla Romanza (pure mountain-stream Grieg) is exquisitely played, and how beautifully the excellent pianist, John Lenehan, prepares the way for his soloist's warm-hearted entry. The finale has a splendidly gutsy, folksy impetus and plenty of light and shade. Both artists are very well recorded and the balance is excellent -- The playing itself is nicely polished as well as musically sensitive. A welcome collection" (The Gramophone)
"Brava's is both a musically satisfying and technically commendable performance" (The Straits Times)
"Her best playing comes in the three short pieces by her countryman Sibelius: the skittish Rondino extracts her quickest fingerwork, the Humoreske Op.87 No.1 wins her most tortured expression and the Romance Op.78 No.2 sings under her confident touch" (Evening Standard)
"Brava's Grieg is candid and forceful" (The Independent)
"Linda plays with a pleasant, honeyed tone - making the most of her golden-voiced 1781 Galliano violin - and an unaffected grace that will surely win her many friends" (Classic FM Magazine)
"Baywatch violinist has critics drooling. She plays like Nigel Kennedy and looks like Pamela Anderson. For Vanessa-Mae, she is serious competition. The world of popular classical music is bracing itself for Linda Lampenius" (The Sunday Times)
"A violin virtuoso" (New York Post)
"Brilliant" (The Times)
"Linda Lampenius changed her name to Brava and she's the toast of glitterati circles with her virtuoso violin playing" (Sunday Mail)
"Linda Lampenius, the gifted Finnish classical violinist" (The Times)
"Some claim that it's Linda Brava’s physical charms that have helped to establish her career. However, her ability as an accomplished violinist cannot be undermined. Linda has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, entertained the Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari and played in Monte Carlo for Princes Rainier and Albert. It was her appearance on internationally aired European TV show, Eurotrash that first introduced her to composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, who happened to see her on the show. Amazed at her abilitiy to play the violin, Webber asked her to perform the solo in Metal Philharmonic summer 1997" (Classic FM)
"Linda Lampenius herättää kunnioitusta kuten yleensä" (Aftonbladet)
"Linda Lampenius aloitti vahvasti kauniilla klassisella kappaleella Meditation --- Musiikkipotpurista tuli virtuoosimaisen viulusoiton näyte --- Hän on kieltämättä lahjakas muusikko, jolla on häikäisevä tekniikka ja valtavasti charmia" (Göteborgs-Posten)
"A virtuoso violinist" (The Independent)
"Linda Lampenius, a striking Finnish blonde with impeccable musical credentials" (Los Angeles Daily News)
"Finnish Phenom" (New York Post)
"Acclaimed by critics" (The Times)
"Hän kirvoittaa viulustaan varsin kauniin äänen, joka kipuaa korkealle puhtaasti. Massenetin Meditation, Paganinin Cantabile, Elgarin Salut d'amour ja Gounodin Ave Maria soivat eletyn tuntuisesti. Ei Lampenius päätään pensaasenkaan pane. Suurin voimainkoetus on Griegin uhkea kolmas sonaatti c-molli. Sen kuohuvissa kontrasteissa Lampenius saa esitellä yhtä lailla tulista temperamenttia kuin kuulaita melodiakaarroksia. Levy on tehty äänitystä myöten huolellisesti. Luotettavana partnerina on John Lenehan --- Linda Lampeniukselta riittää lahjoja" (Helsingin Sanomat)
