New design and improved gaming ergonomics
With the N-Gage QD, gamers will be able to play all of their favorite N-Gage titles, connect to the worldwide mobile gaming community over mobile networks via the N-Gage Arena as well as take part in close-range mobile multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth wireless technology. The pocketable new game device features a hot-swappable multimedia (MMC) slot for instant gaming and provides the gamers with improved gaming controls, brighter screen and longer battery life.
“After six months on the market with the N-Gage platform, we wanted to expand our device portfolio based on the feedback we’ve received,” said Ilkka Raiskinen, who is heading the Games Business Unit in the Multimedia Business Group. “With improved gaming ergonomics, gamers can now start to play games at the push of a button and enjoy the increased responsiveness of the game keys. We also added support for hot-swap MMC and extended the battery life. For phone calls, we reoriented the speaker and microphone to support ‘classic talking’.”
The N-Gage QD is also a powerful communications device that combines gaming features with smartphone functionality, supporting features such as personal information management, XHTML browser, email and the possibility to download and install additional Series 60 applications.
Easy access to the ultimate mobile gamer community - the N-Gage Arena
The N-Gage QD also features a new N-Gage Arena launcher, a software application preinstalled on the N-Gage QD device allowing gamers full access to the N-Gage Arena community directly from their game deck. Once installed, the launcher is accessed from an icon in the game deck's main applications menu, similar to other N-Gage software. Using the launcher via a GPRS connection, N-Gage Arena members can communicate with one another, download exclusive content, access rankings statistics, participate in events and activities, and more. Existing N-Gage users will also be able to download the N-Gage Arena launcher from www.n-gage.com in May 2004.
Join the game with the new N-Gage QD
Compared to the N-Gage game deck device, the N-Gage QD has differences in design and features but the devices are compatible; for instance, both N-Gage and N-Gage QD owners are able to play the same games and access the same N-Gage Arena functionality. In addition, the two game decks can be connected easily via Bluetooth technology for the head-to-head gaming challenges. The new N-Gage QD game deck supports existing N-Gage game titles as well as forthcoming N-Gage exclusive titles like Ashen, Pathway to Glory and Pocket Kingdom: Own The World, and blockbuster hits like The Sims Bustin’ Out, Crash Nitro Kart and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004.
The N-Gage QD game deck will be available in two versions: a GSM 900/1800 variant for Europe, Africa and APAC is expected to be in the shops in May, and the GSM 850/1900 version for Americas will start selling in June. The price is expected to range from €99/$99 with a contract to €199/$199 as an unsubsidized, untaxed retail price.

VOIS sanoa että siitä tulee uus game boy :P! eihän siinä ole kun hyvät pelimahdollisuudet... paska paska, kun ei vanhakaan n-gage hyvä ole! =)
Kaikki haukkuvat N-gagea nenä pystyssä, mutta miksi? Itse menin siis tästä syystä gsmpdakonsolihybridin ostamaan. Suhteemme on jo kolmannella viikolla. Kaikki on sujunut erittäin hyvin ja elämä hymyilee x)
alle 200 eurolla siis saa Kämmentietokoneen ja puhelimen yhdistelmän jossa on Symbian series 60 käyttöjärjestelmä jolle on tarjolla monipuolinen ohjelma ja pelivalikoima ja netistä voi toki hakea myös kehitystyökalut itselleen jos on ohjelmointi hanskassa.
Laitteessa toimii toki myös tavalliset java pelit ja ohjelmat kuten myös N-gage pelit.
Laite toimii toki myös mmc korttilukijana, mp3 soittimena, radiona, nettiselaimena ja myös Irc:ssä idlailu onnistuu N-gagella.
Uusi N-Gage Qd sitten onkin rajoitetumpi ja itse suosittelen alkuperäistä N-gagea. Kaveriksi känny vaatii kyllä ison mmc muistikortin sillä pelit kun saa netistä melko pienellä vaivalla x)
Kyllä ihminen tyhmä saa olla jos menee nyt ostamaan kännykän 200-500 eurolla vain sen takia että siinä on 0,5 megapixelin kamera eikä tukea N-gage peleille x)
N-gagen hinta ehkä selittyykin sillä että se on myynyt huonosti ja suunnattu nuorisolle.
Paras hinta/laatusuhde siitä ei pääse mihinkään =)
Eli N-gagen haukkujat voivat haudata palikkansa suolle ja käydä suosiolla ostamassa N-gage vai pitääkö korvasta vääntää kauppaan? =D
Tietty jos on Peelå eikä ole tutustunut paremmin Symbianin saloihin niin voi yhtä hyvin ostaa jonkin 3210:n.
Ps. Siltä varalta että joku tejni tulee vinkumaan jostain kumman syystä niin hänelle vastattakoon jo valmiiksi: Osta uus känny.
