Tai oikeastaan kaupallisen version. Näillä näkymin Mandrivasta on tulossa ei kaupallinen. Huomattava osa Mandrivan kaupallisten toimintojen työntekijöistä on irtisanottu. Joitakin viitteitä on tosin siitä, että taloudellinen tilanne voi aikaansaada sen että Euroopan työntekijät irtisanotaan ja tilalle palkattaisiin ehkä henkilöstöä Brasiliassa, jossa lienee Mandrivan painopiste tällä hetkellä.

The real reason why people are being fired, is of course that there is simply no more money to pay them anymore. Furthermore, I am pretty sure that Mandriva can never be a real competitor for distributions like Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Novell’s Suse Linux Enterprise Server, which are much more popular in large companies. Already even 5 years ago Mandriva was often not taken seriously anymore in corporate environments, according to my experience when working for an IT company specializing in free software. Even free distributions like CentOS and Debian have a much higher reputation in the server market than Mandriva."

Niinpä niin. Ei kai se ensimmäinen kerta maailmanhistoriassa ole kun vapaaehtoistyöllä saadaan huomattavastikin parempi tulos kuin kaupallasilla sovelluksilla. CentOS taisi nousta suosikkiserveriksi Linux-puolella aivan äskettäin.
Äkkiä debiania suoneen ja tuxfibrillaattorilla kunnon tömäykset! Irti! Joko lähti mannen sydän sykkimään?
paremmin. Pääasiahan nykyisin on osaaminen - ei niinkään raha. Mandriva voisi keskittyä työasemiin. Debian voi hyvin ja menestyy Brasiliassakin. Niin työasemissa kuin servereissäkin.
Paskaa jäävät kaipaamaan vain kärpäset.

menee takaisin kohti mandrakea, joka oli upea jakelu. Mandrivat olivat /C:stä.
Minäkin aloitin Linux kokeilut ja se olikin kiinnostavaa, uutta sekä täynnä yllätyksiä, mutta Mandrivaksi muuton jälkeen siitä tuli "normirypistys" ja siihen loppui innostus, joten ......... ?
Ite käyttelin Mandrakea aikoinaan vähän mutta en muista käyttäneeni enää Mandrivaa joten en tiedä mitä eroja niissä nimen lisäksi oli? Eli siis mitä eroja?

No ei ole, senhän minä jo tiedänkin. Mitä eroa on käytettävyydessä?
Huolto ja jakelu senjälkeen kun siitä tuli maksullinen versio, joten ..... ?
Mun mielestä se mandrakenkin huolto ja jakelu oli turhan monimutkaista joten siirryin .deb-pohjaisiin
Madraker tuhosi CD-asemia ja emolevyjä. Mandrivassa ongelmaa saatiin hiukan poistettua.
