Oslo boat show results in optimism
Norway
With 54,000 visitors and good sales, the consensus
of opinion after the boat show Sjøen for alle
closed its doors on 25 March was one of
optimism for the coming season.
"The good news is that there has been an
increase in sales of small
boats, family boats and equipment," said the
manager of the boat show, Aud Høva.
Exhibitors with sales concentrated on the largest
and most expensive boats said the current economic
situation has made the market worried, but
"normal" family boats are selling better than
ever, according to show organizers.
The average family boat has increased in size and
in value and is now regarded as an alternative to
a cottage by the sea, said Høva.
For this reason, a 10-metre boat costing NOK1
million is no longer a rarity and these boats are
sold to families on normal incomes who have a
sound financing plan.
Sales of small and medium-sized boats are also
holding up well and, together with the high level
of interest in the boat show as a whole,
the leisure boat industry is looking forward to
the approaching season with optimism, said Høva.

Det som sker i Norge går inte att jämföra med
situationen i Finland!
Recensionerna drabbar inte Norge lika hårt som
övriga Norden. Dessutom är båtsäsongen mycket
längre i Norge än på östersjön då Norge har öppet
vatten året runt!
i Finland har båtförsäljningen minskat från
ifjol!!
